AGE - TOP REASON FOR JOB DISCRIMINATION CLAIMS

Alleged age-related discrimination continues to be the main reason for complaints made under employment legislation, says The Equality Authority.

More than one quarter of such complaints last year were related to age.

Followed by gender, racial discrimination was the second-highest category of complaints in this area.

Meanwhile, the highest area of complaint under the Equal Status Act related to disability, with most of these cases concerning the provision of education.
